Sometimes you happen on the magical sight of a rainbow in the sky, but some days you make your own rainbows, stopping to rest in whatever beauty is present.

About this time every summer morning, the sun hits the leaves of a hackberry tree outside my bedroom window, turning them a vibrant chartreuse. That is the first daily gift the universe gives me and I stay open to receiving others.
Today a rainbow appeared right in front of me as I sat on the porch overlooking the meadow where six deer wandered in to feed. A hummingbird settled on the feeder to drink. It felt magickal, miraculous! I felt rich.
Earlier this summer I saw a double rainbow (one on top of the other) while stopped to pump gas. I looked up and there it was! I took out my cell phone and snapped a picture. When I looked around again, I noticed that several other people had abandoned their gas pumps to marvel at this sight too. I think this was the first time I have encountered this phenomenon. It was certainly a beautiful and very rare sight.
