The Feast of Epiphany marks the visit of the three Magi to the baby Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. But we also use the word “epiphany” to describe a sudden understanding, a moment when we grasp something that we never understood before.

What secrets have you uncovered by looking in unlikely places?
“Now you see me, now you don’t” is a great game to play with a baby, who is captivated by the mystery of how people can appear and disappear in a moment. It’s only when we’re a bit older that we learn that those things we can’t see are still with us.
What is still very much with you, although it appears to be gone?
The artichoke’s prickly exterior hides not only a startlingly rich purple inside, but also a tender heart.
