What secrets have you uncovered by looking in unlikely places?

Looking closely at an insect (living or dead) causes me to ruminate on how it uses the parts of its body in such a different way than do I. It must be an efficient way or that species or family wouldn’t survive. Knowing that certain bugs can smell with their feelers instead of ears such as ours makes me think a long time.
