When Moses encounters God in the form of a burning bush, the first thing the Holy says to him, oddly enough, is “Take off your shoes.” Take off your shoes, you are standing on holy ground. Of course, the ground you stand on everywhere is holy.
What could you take off or let go of to deepen your connection with the Holy?
What does it take to trust that seeming emptiness will hold you up, to ride on thin air? You need strong wings. Which, it turns out, you can only get if you are willing to launch yourself into the emptiness.

Generally people are only awarded medals for courage in battle, risking life and limb for the sake of their country and their comrades. But most acts of courage are not so dramatic—speaking up when you feel uncomfortable, taking action when it is easier to not to, caring for others when you are in great need of care for yourself.
