Letting Go

Much of the holiday season involves giving and receiving. But New Year’s Eve is, at heart, a celebration of their opposite—letting go, releasing the old year so that we are ready for the year to come. If you feel like there is much from this past year that you are ready to consign to the ash heap, you are not alone.

What do you release from this past year?

  1. I much of the world New Years Eve and New Years Day are the most important days of the year symbolizing new beginnings.

  2. For me New Years is important time to be with family, and to ear cheeses, and crackers which we seldom have throughout the year. My daughter is home from her Ph D program (full ride fellowship and Teaching Fellow–she’s pretty smart).

  3. For me, this past year has been filled with disappointments, sadness, loss and other feelings related to the future. Now, in 2018, part of that lack of acceptance is still here; I’ll try to face the future with courage and, as I learn how to incorporate my concerns into my life scheme, a hope for serenity.
