Well, sure, the cosmos is the universe, the biggest thing out there. It’s also a very pretty kind of flower. Sometimes you need to start by loving the world you can see and touch and smell before you go grand.
What small thing have you fallen in love with lately?
Some one I know is doing research outside in nearby country fields. He brought me a “treasure” the other day: two weather beaten shells which appeared, one large and unopened and the other, the same kind but separated into small matched separate pieces. First it made me wonder how these shells ended up in a Midwest farmer’s field a long way from the ocean. Second, why did the large shell fail to open, leaving its content left enclosed in time. Small discoveries like this can start one thinking of big events that must have happened eons ago.
