I give you the key to…ah, there’s the rub. What is it that this particular key unlocks? Anyone with a bowl or a drawer full of keys knows how easy it is to have keys that definitely unlock something, but you just can’t remember what. Sometimes you have the solution, but you just can’t figure out the problem.
What solution do you have for which you would love to know the problem it solves?
At a personal level, I continue to believe that one of my long term friends and I could be closer friends; that would be a happy solution as far as
I am concerned. We have worked together, socialized together, supported each other in times of crisis all of which has led me to think that we can be close friends. However, our paths seem to be diverging, in my opinion, but perhaps not in hers. She continues to work and has a schedule and I am retired. We live nearby, exchange clips and web sites, However, this is about as close to personal exchange as it is now. I find that any of my responses to her very opinionated conversations about many world and national problems seems to be with little repartee between us. I also find that she changes planning dates for our activities sometimes abruptly. I would like to think that there is a solution because we have many memories between us. I think the truth between us about how I see our friendship is the answer but I find myself without confidence to bring them up with her personally. I wonder if the solution and the problems are inextricably intertwined.
