Communication

conversation“People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don’t know each other; they don’t know each other because they have not communicated with each other.”
―Martin Luther King Jr.

What conversations have you chosen to have even though you were afraid?

  1. Communication between two can depend on many things: different languages; appearance; sound or loudness of voice; time isn’t available; other reasons too many to mention. Sometimes a warm smile says a lot to someone else; or some comment that elicits a return smile or even a happy, friendly, human thought. Sometimes I anticipate a frown or an urgent sense of despair; I try to understand the reason for another person’s avoidance of an opening; sometime it upsets me and I feel foolish but I won’t give up the practice because I think it’s worthwhile to always try.
