A Blank Page

empty diary - negative_space-cc0Sitting in front of a blank page reveals that the most frustrating secrets can be the things that we simply have not been able to access within ourselves—the gifts that we have not yet figured out how to give the world.

What helps you to access the creativity that lies dormant within you?

  1. Imagining! As I grow older, strangely enough, I spend quite a bit of time sitting and imagining what kind of new project I can work on; where I might fit in volunteering to help someone who needs it; creating collages of mementoes from travel; planning get together dinner parties with friends that take some time to prepare since I like active partying; reading every book I’ve bought and never read; and other dreams that come to my mind. Maybe all of this is because I’m retired and have time to dream; perhaps it’s because I still want to accomplish a lot of projects before I die. I’m trying to establish priorities and start at least ONE as soon as possible. Time is now not only my savior but also
    my enemy.
