Hope, opposite despair, allows me to see the continuum of the achievements that humanity has made during all time. Even though there are parts of our history which are abhorrent in the progression from savagery through other inhumane concepts that appear to have been relevant at the time, we have, in my opinion, continued to foster the concept of the value of humans living in harmony on our planet. Some will say “foolishness” but I say that the examples of people helping each person to live a dignified life are there for us to see and for us to aspire to making more real.
