When you’ve emptied the cup, it seems like all that is left is a few drops at the bottom. But really, you still have the cup, and the hand that holds it. And, if you’re lucky, the hands of those who would sit with you and share a cup.
When you look at something in your life that feels empty, what holds that emptiness?

Who have you forgiven through an act of will, simply because you decided it was the right thing to do?
There’s no question that the world is full chaos and destructive forces. But sometimes those forces of chaos are not so bad, and a little element of impishness to turn things on their head adds more in the way of surprise and fun than actual destruction.
How do you like to introduce a little chaos into the world?
None of us is self-sufficient – we all depend on the work of others for our comfort and our daily survival. Whatever the work you do, perhaps you can take a moment this Labor Day to honor all the ways in which the work others engage in contributes to your well-being.
What work would you love to do? What work are you really grateful someone else takes on, and you don’t have to?
It’s hard to love—or even appreciate—the things that lead to radical transformation. Nobody wants to be whacked on the head and cracked open. And you know what? You don’t have to love it. You just probably can’t stop it.
