Empty swings at dawn might look lonely or forsaken, but really they are just paused in a moment of potential, holding the possibility of all the children who will play on them in the day to come. Like the pause at the top before the swing comes swooping down, the moment of stillness holds a space for the energy and motion to come.
What place of stillness propels you into motion?
There is a moment of reflexion and a silent pause for me after breakfast time many days when I relax, consider what the day will bring, feel gratitude that these days of retirement afford me such freedom to choose and then take my next step into my choice for the day. This may be e-mail searching, more rest and relaxation or an already scheduled activity. It feels good to know that I can choose what’s to come that day.
