Tu B’Shevat is the Jewish New Year for trees. Why should trees get a new year of their very own? Why not? Something begins every time you notice trees first beginning to bud, or shifts of color as the twigs themselves take on the beginning of new life.
What in your life is at that point of first bud and new beginning?

New beginnings have happened to me countless times since I am among the oldest of the older. I look back and consider the changes in my life that have been related to new beginnings. Some have been successful; others brought sadness or frustration. However, I still live with the aspiration that looking for and accepting newness is not only a challenge but an opportunity.
