Veteran’s Day

VeteransVeteran’s Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the day when the armistice was signed for Second World War. We honor those who have served in the military at the very same time that we celebrate the possibility of peace.

Who do you personally honor as a veteran and a peacemaker?

  1. Veteran’s Day (November 11) marks the end of the First World War, not the Second World War…..

  2. Peacemakers may not go by that title. Often they don’t. The results of their efforts qualify as peacemaking at a certain time, often much later. My nomination for the title is Sargent Schriver. He actively worked with Peace Corps development and effort for years until he died. I, knowing personally of his work and the activities of the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Peru and as a Returned Volunteer who continues to encourage our country to recognize the importance of humanitarian efforts by our country to establish peacemaking between members and host country hosts makes me know that his efforts have not been in vain.
