Palm Trees

Do you dream of a vacation in a tropical paradise, where palm trees grow on sandy beaches, and warm breezes caress your skin? Just for a moment, close your eyes and visit this island paradise. Then remember that people who live in tropical lands have work and money troubles and aging parents and troubled children and all the difficulties of daily life in colder climes.

How will you find a moment today to relax and find peace in the perfect place where you already are?

  1. I am attending a concert tonight with friends. Good music, companionship and a break from the routine of my daily life. All work and no play makes Al a dull boy.

I’ll share a funny story. I attended a music workshop last summer on Hawaian Ukulele. The instructor was a native Hawaian who relocated to North Carolina. I asked him why anyone woukd move away from “paradise” to live back east. His answer was basically the same as what you posted above about Hawaiians having troubles just like everyone else. He still goes back to visit but he’s now content in his new home. It made me feel a little better about living here but somedays I think I would still like to try Hawaii. 🙂

  2. I walk in the woods with my family and dogs on most days. As long as it’s not gadfly season, the forest is beautiful. It’s also refreshing to do something that brings such intense joy to someone else – like getting out the leashes for my dogs. The food bowls do the same thing, so that’s four times a day that I can really give something of value to someone else 🙂 I’ve grown somewhat desensitized to all that, however.

  3. How will you find a moment today to relax and find peace in the perfect place where you already are?… If i can get ‘Pamela on Skype’ (software) to record for more than 3-minutes – I’ll record some of my songs and email them or post them to YouTube. That would bring me some Peace.
    Namaste & Bright Blessings!
    Dwayne
