Legacy

“Everyone must leave something behind when [they die] . . . Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die . . . It doesn’t matter what you do, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that’s like you after you take your hands away.”
―Ray Bradbury

What do you hope will outlast you as your legacy?

Heroes

You would think that if you asked people about their heroes you would get a list of famous people who did extraordinary things against great odds—and that does describe some heroes. But many people’s heroes are their parents, teachers, mentors. People who made a difference without making a fuss.

Who are your heroes and why?

Change Your Mind

What you’re supposed to do
when you don’t like a thing is change it.
If you can’t change it,
change the way you think about it.”
―Maya Angelou

How has changing the way you thought about something enabled you to move in a new direction?

Evolution

We tend to think of humans as the pinnacle of evolution, the great final achievement of the process of natural selection. Which is, of course, ridiculous. Evolution is a process of change which branches out in all directions, and doesn’t cease as long as there is life.

When have you come to what you thought was a final conclusion or accomplishment, only to find out that change continued?
