In the Hebrew Scriptures, the rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with the people. It appears as the floodwaters recede from the land and reminds the people that they are loved.

Covenants are the sacred promises we make to one another that bind us together. It is important that when we stray from a covenant we take the time to return to it and repair it.
