Whose love has helped you to take off a mask and show your authentic self?
You might pick dandelion flowers to stop them from spreading their seeds in your garden. Or you might pick them as a bouquet to give or enjoy. Or you might pick them as a nutritious vegetable. The dandelions are all the same. The difference is in the one who plucks them.
How have you changed an event by changing how you looked at it?
It’s true, you know. All things grow with love. Children grow with the love of family, but trees grow with the ongoing gift of air and sun and earth. The love that nature gives is not personal, and doesn’t distinguish between who needs or deserves it the most, which is more or less the definition of God.
Where do you see love encouraging you to grow?
Everything sleeps quietly beneath a blanket of snow, the image of stillness and peace. But under the snow the mice are busily tunneling, sap is beginning to move in the limbs of the bare trees, and below the ground bulbs are beginning to crack open. Perfect quiet is an illusion. There is always life ready to break through.
