The Roman Coliseum was host to epic battles and public spectacles, gladiators performing grand acts in front of tens of thousands of roaring fans. What remains is a building that is ruined but still beautiful, both imposing and wrecked.
Who or what continues to shape you although no longer around in the form you remember?
Geysers form when super-heated water gushes forth from deep beneath the earth in a dramatic fountain. It happens. Most of us have moments when we get overheated and explode. Maybe we should just think of those moments not as shamefully losing our temper, but rather as an abundance of energy coming to the surface.
Who or what in your life makes you lose your cool?
When you look at this picture, is your eye drawn to the lush flowers or the barren crag? To the welcoming valley or the great expanse of open sky? It is, as they say, all in the eye of the beholder.
