What is planted in your heart?

It’s later than you think. Or earlier. Our sense of time is never quite accurate, and never quite as regimented as the hands of a clock ticking forward.

When does time move the fastest for you? When does it move the slowest?

There are nights that feel like they will never be over, leaving you wallowing forever in the pain or anxiety that has disturbed your sleep. There is no way to make the sun show up sooner, but if you are able to step outside your unhappiness and look around, you will see the night is full of lights set out by others with hope to spare. You could watch those flicker until the sun comes up.

Who has lit a candle for you?

The long wait is almost over. After months of separation, the long-awaited reunion. In the days to come there will be complicated recalibrations as people who have had to contend with life apart reestablish how to contend with life together. But for now, in this last moment, only the complete open-heartedness of the end of waiting.
