Tension

What happens in our lives, and in the broader world that touches us, is held in our bodies. Stress accumulates in the neck, the back, the stomach, in systemic changes such as inflammation. We carry the world with us, sometimes in ways that are painful. Finding ways to constructively hold things in tension is always a challenge.

Under Your Skin

Under your skin a vast network of miracles is taking place. Without your giving it a thought, red blood cells deliver oxygen while white blood cells stand guard against invaders. Your gut transforms food into nutrition, your liver filters toxins, and at, the tiniest level, inside your cells mitochondria are hard at work powering the whole dazzling array. You’re amazing!

It would be foolish to go out into the wilderness without giving full attention to what you need to bring with you to stay safe and have a good time. We might be heading into the wilderness even if we never travel far from home.
