Creative

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.”
―Osho

How do you enhance life’s beauty?

Ukulele

You would be hard-pressed to argue that the ukulele is even in contention for the world’s most beautiful instrument. It’s quiet and small and easy enough for even a child to play. Which is to say that it’s brought a whole lot of happiness to a whole lot of people.

What unimpressive thing is beautiful to you?

Seahorse

“Hey,” said Evolution, “I have a great idea. Let’s make a kind of a fish that isn’t really a fish with a curly tail and a fin on its back and a sucker-tube mouth. And let’s have the dads raise the babies. That will be awesome!” And it is. It really is.

What do you find beautiful because, rather than in spite of, its strangeness?

Practicing Beauty

“A [person] should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of [their] life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
