Fully Accessible

Barriers to participation in community are not only physical. To be fully accessible, all of our brains, bodies, and senses must be let in and accounted for.

  1. Thank you for these wise words. I have hearing loss, an invisible disability. My in-person church added this to my name tag: Please face me when speaking.
This works to improve my communication with others and raises awareness of this disability. It also encourages others who are uncomfortable with or ashamed of their hearing loss to ask me about it. I feel more included in my congregation and helpful to others.
