Esprit de Corps

In a marching band, “esprit de corps” refers to the sense of collective pride band members get in doing a thing together that is so much cooler than any one person could have done on their own. It is the spirit that moves through the entire body of the band, working together.

When have you felt esprit de corps in your life?

  1. I was part of theatre in my youth, especially high school. No matter if someone had the lead role or was stage manager or a “prop runner” – every role was equally important. I feel the same way about a spiritual community – whether you are minister or janitorial staff. Every person’s role and contributions to the whole system matter.
