The Books We Own

“All the books we own, both read and unread, are the fullest expression of self we have at our disposal. … But with each passing year, and with each whimsical purchase, our libraries become more and more able to articulate who we are, whether we read the books or not.”
― Nick Hornby

What would someone know about you from looking at your books?

  1. I fear that it is highly possible that someone perusing my book collection would notice first that there is a goodly number of unread books. I can excuse myself somewhat by saying that I am a visualist and often gather books with striking, admirable illustrations; however, the print should be appreciated too…maybe some time!?.

  2. I too have many unread but love them all. Reference books, classic novels, lots of theater, a shelf of art, a shelf of religion, current events, multi language dictionaries.
