I most enjoy giving a gift to someone who expresses a liking for something I have or am wearing. One time, in an international restaurant, a woman at another table accompanied by a vibrant group of friends, spontaneously expressed admiration for a handwoven hat that I was wearing. I (also spontaneously) offered it to her and I was so pleased that she accepted it with pleasure. I still think of how I felt that she was the one to have that hat and could enjoy it!
