Stretch

It’s easy to get cramped in body or mind, to let yourself fold into the shape of typing at a computer or an old argument. We are healthier if we remember to stretch, to push ourselves out of our old ruts.

What is your favorite way to expand your mind or your body?

  1. If my mind is filled with too many thoughts, I like to sit and read poetry. Believe it or not, I am now enjoying William Cullen Bryant’s works and Alfred Lord Tennyson’s. These are old falling apart books that recently I have realized contain something special; my grandfather’s signature is in the Bryant tome and his wife’s, my grandmother whom I never knew, is in the Tennyson. I find myself connecting in some sort of memory with them as I read.
