Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

mlk-statue“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.”
—Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

How are you working for freedom?

  1. At every chance I have, I respond to people of color, different from my whiteness, in a way that I hope that they recognize that I recognize them as a correspondingly valuable human. Looking at them in their eyes and speaking kindly is a priority for me, as it is for those white. A smile is added too. I can almost see Martin’s eye in theirs.
