It can be hard to come home from a trip if you don’t have human or furry companions to welcome you back. But sometimes you need to create your own welcome.
How do you experience welcome when you come home—whether or not anyone is there to greet you?

I recall a quote, “You can never go home again.” I think it may have been Thomas Wolfe? Of course the inspiration of this missive is “coming home” not going home. I think there is a welcoming presence in the familiar – with or without a companion or partner. It simply be a locale, or ambiance,
or selected possessions which provide comfort from absence. I think the Wolfe quote relates to how things change, including ourselves and how we perceive things at different times. I think aspects of the familiar – feelings – are retained under any circumstance and that unique experience is often home enough.
