Notes

journey begins with a single note - doug plummerThere are 88 keys on a piano, but really only 12 notes that repeat up and down the keyboard. So few options, but enough choices to find your way to everything from Bach to the Beatles.

How has a situation with limited options offered you everything you needed?

  1. Caring for someone in the home limits a caregiver’s options. This was the case as I helped my mother through her dying days. Although there was outside assistance, sometimes the days required that I be with her day and night. Thankfully I learned from the others how to assist her with personal care. However what helped me enormously was the respite care offered by a local hospice. To be away for an hour or so, doing activities that I usually was able to enjoy, made the other times much better. The appearance of someone who already had helped before and knew my mother was such a happy way to hear the doorbell and open the door!!
