Outside the Light

drinking alone - unsplash creative commonsIt is possible to be surrounded by rays of golden, glorious light and never notice. Addictions, fears, even a sense of entitlement can leave us caught on the dirty floor with no idea that just above our head there is more beauty than we could have imagined.

What has prevented you from seeing the beauty that was just beyond your reach?

  1. The “beauty” that I’m thinking of this morning could be knowing so much more about the family members who people my past. I am the one who has ended up with much of family memorabilia on both sides of my heritage. As an only daughter, unmarried, I have actually made some half hearted attempts to find out more via existing family talks and internet searches. The picture is hazy, though, and if I do not search with more diligence, the unknown will never be known to me. Perhaps this serves as a wake-up call!?
