New Growth

NewGrowthWhat looks from one perspective like a hatchet job, a cataclysmic loss of limbs, can be regarded from another point of view as necessary pruning that will allow for new growth.

  1. Retiring from a formal job had given me the opportunity to be free from those kinds of schedules which demand attention and participation. Then in retirement I’ve let new opportunities come into my life. Serving as a docent (tour guide) at the Governor’s Mansion in our state has been one of the most interesting, exciting and rewarding experiences that has appeared. Other politically oriented groups also are available for me in which I participate and I value those opportunities. Some people see retirement as fulfilling a specific goal; I, rather, have let things flow along and have grasped for the opportunities that I found rewarding “just because”.
