Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a day of honoring the earth and taking action to preserve it. 45 years later, it is ever more urgent that we remember that there is no separation between our own personal lives and the shared life of the planet.
What action on behalf of the planet will you commit to this Earth Day?
For Earth Day, I acknowledge that I save EVERY dying leaf from any indoor plant, every trimming from vegetables I am preparing to eat and have the lawn service put all gathered leaves in the outside bin each fall. I rake it and open it in the rain to help moisten it. I tend it as well as I can. Someday I and others will be able to reuse the results of the compost bin. One small step for the earth…
