A Bridge to Nowhere

IntoGreenAlthough phrase “a bridge to nowhere” has become a catch phrase for “a useless government project,” what could be more magical than a bridge that disappears off into the unknown? Sometimes the finest journeys are the ones in which we don’t know where we’re headed, where not only what we see along the path but also the destination itself come as surprises.

What have you found when you’ve dared to follow “a bridge to nowhere”?

Mardi Gras

Exif_JPEG_PICTUREFor just a moment, let’s turn the world upside down, make kings and queens of the lowly, dance in the street and declare a party to which everyone is invited. Maybe over Lent we can contemplate how we could make that world live for more than a moment.

Presidents’ Day

PresidentsDayPresidents’ Day—or President’s Day—honors the birthday of George Washington. And Abraham Lincoln. Some places. But then, some places just honor Washington, and some include Thomas Jefferson. And some states honor all presidents with the day, although goodness knows some presidents are less deserving of honor than others. Maybe what we need is Leaders’ Day, when we honor all those who step forward to get things done.

How are you a leader?
