Monochrome

MatchingThe beauty of color can also serve as a distraction from the equally beautiful varieties of pattern and texture. As winter comes on, finding beauty in shades of grey becomes all the more important.

What do you love for its pattern, texture or feel?

  1. Monochromatic gradations are a comfort to our psyche. They are gradual and do not demand a strong, often sudden response. The way that dullish , non obtrusive tree shaped forms often melt into gray cloud backgrounds is a signal that we are asked to relax and accept nature as it has become within the autumn season of our global placement. Although there are times when we remember the color splashes of summer and autumn, this is also a part of our co-existence with nature…when we learn that this is a time for rest for all of us.
