How are you vulnerable as a grown-up in ways that you weren’t as a child?

Before my teens, I thought it was OK to be, um, different (thanks largely to my parent’s acceptance). Later, society taught me that I’m unacceptable unless I fit the norms. So, regarding my traits, I went from being a secure child to a vulnerable adult.
