Easter

The Easter bunny travels around bringing colored eggs for children to find—one of the more truly bizarre assertions of a holiday. But Easter is about the improbable, the strange, the unbelievable notion that not only does life spring from death, but that life is present even in the midst of death, that death may be inevitable and permanent, but still does not have dominion.

What improbable conviction do you hold dear?

  1. The improbable belief that mankind will evolve to one day peacefully coexist with oneanother in harmony. Will it come through political change, heightened religious awareness, rational thinking, a rapidly shrinking globe or fear of the ugly alternative? I think it will happen for all of those reasons and more. Will I live to see it? Probably not, but I have seen some changes in my lifetime that give me hope for the future. I’ll take that for now.
