Happy Beltane! The celebration, which falls at the half-way point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, has traditionally been marked with bonfires and flowers, and the dancing of the Maypole. It is a celebration of fertility and passion and the burgeoning growth of the season, a joyful time of welcoming abundance.
What personal passion might you celebrate today?
Something from my childhood remains inside me! As a very young student in a Maryland elementary school, I joined in with other little ones dancing around a maypole; grasping crepe paper streamers of various colors and learning how to duck under and leap over one another. I still remember the laughter and funny confusion we made with laughing parents grouped around us. When young and older laugh together, true happiness abounds!
