Present Wonder

“With mindfulness, you can establish yourself in the present in order to touch the wonders of life that are available in that moment.”
—Thich Nhat Hanh

Where do you touch wonder right here, right now?

Up Close and Personal

An ordinary grasshopper looks like an armored alien if you get close enough. With a magnifying glass your own hand turns into a topography of rivers and tributaries. Whole worlds of wonder exist that we never see because we never look closely enough.

What tiny thing has awakened your sense of wonder?

On Fire

Maybe you know the feeling: riveted, engaged, enthralled, passionate. An idea or a plan or an insight catches us and we are headed off after whatever it is that has set our mind or heart or soul on fire.

What has caught flame for you?

Imagination

“…Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive–it’s such an interesting world. It wouldn’t be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There’d be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
― L.M. Montgomery

What inspires you to flights of fancy?

Good

We all know the world is full of grievous injustice and outright tragedy. Also stunning beauty and grace. But a lot of the world is just plain good—not astounding, or amazing, but enjoyable or likable or pleasant or fun. The good bits deserve attention to.
