Sacrificial Lamb

In the days when the Jewish Temple was still standing, one of the important religious practices was that of sacrifice, including the proverbial sacrificial lambs. One might note that the lambs were not the ones who chose to make the sacrifice.

When has someone else chosen to make some aspect of your life a sacrifice?

Service

While society recognizes the sacrifice of those who serve in the military, the sacrifices made by their family members often go unnoticed. Enduring hardship for a cause you believe in is one kind of sacrifice. Enduring hardship for a person you believe in is another.

― Noah Webster
