We teach children to achieve long-term goals by noting and praising the small steps along the way, placing stars on a chart to show progress. It turns out that adults learn much the same way.
How to you recognize and celebrate small steps to long-term goals?
A toast is a public form of praise, a ritual of well-wishing and appreciation. Perhaps it is unfortunate that we tend to save toasts for formal occasions such as wedding receptions.
