Building Blocks
It used to be that Legos didn’t come in fancy kits to make pirate ships or space fighters. You got bricks of different sizes and colors, and you used your imagination to figure out what you wanted to build. Which was limited by the fact that you only had block shapes to work with.

Model ships, model trains, doll houses—there is something endearing about the real world made tiny, and placed under our complete control.
