Original

“We… remember this is our home, but not just ours.
This land we live on, this water we drink, this air we breathe;
These old mountains that hold us steady to our ground;
These forests that give us their healing green, these flowers that give us their beauty and fragrance, these fields that give us our daily bread, these stars that show us our place.
The wilderness and the tame backyards, all of it our home.
We remember the ancestors who have lived on this land, and who have shaped it.”
-Laura Bogle

Resilience

“We pray for healing of the wounds of the past and present.
We pray for open hearts and minds that we may envision what is possible.
We pray for the courage not only to speak up,
but also to listen, even when the words are hard to hear.
We pray for compassion and understanding.
We pray for resilience and determination and for the fearlessness to take risks,
to make mistakes and to keep trying.
In gratitude for the opportunities we have been given and the promise of what we can achieve together… and in the name of all that is holy, we say amen.”
-Connie Simon

Strength

“Spirits, we ask for guidance
Send us strength and endurance
Help us to give our all to this
And hold nothing back
For precious lives depend on it
We will be imperfect
Rest assured that we will mess up over and over again
And we must do it anyway.
May we summon the courage to tear down this system of injustice
And get busy creating a “world community with… justice for all.”
May it be so.
Amen”

Beads

For many people, prayer beads provide a vehicle for daily spiritual practice. Each bead can represent a specific way to pray, a certain value that you wish to hold, or a phrase of prayer that you find it meaningful to recite regularly.

What reminds you to take time for spiritual practice? What guides you through that practice?
