Sure, sometimes you need space, but there is a particular pleasure in the contact of body to body, whether it is with an intimate partner, a pet, a child or a pillow. Sometimes you want to hold close, to set aside the inevitable distances between us for the pleasure of being in touch.

The sun, the source of life, the vast fusion reactor our planet orbits through the sky, appears to us as a shining jewel that could be clasped between two fingers, a vastness held in our hand.

May Day is a celebration of spring and fertility, the pagan holiday of Beltane. It is also a day for promoting workers’ rights. It’s also a desperate cry for help, the signal you send out when the ship is going down. Creative beauty, work and pain, all of life wrapped up together in the celebration of a day.
