Daring to Connect

DaringToConnect-150x150 “What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.”
―Kurt Vonnegut

How do you dare to create community?

Birds of a Feather

BirdofAFeather-150x150“Birds of a feather flock together,” goes the old saying. And it’s true that it can be a comfort to flock with those who are like you in some essential way: who share your politics, your theology, your particular minority status or your passion about gardening or dancing or Dr. Who.

What group of people do you particularly enjoy congregating with?

Drafting

Drafting-150x150Bicyclists can make it easier for one another by allowing riders to follow closely behind in a practice called “drafting,” in which the person in front takes the brunt of the air resistance, giving an easier ride to the person behind.

How have you have you made an easier path for a person or people coming behind you?

Complicated

Complicated-150x150Simplicity is a wonderful spiritual goal – to focus on the essentials, to treasure small things. But there is also beauty in complexity, whether it is the ornate shape and colors of a flower, or a life complicated by the intricate weaving of work, family, hobbies, care for others and care for self.

What do you love for its complexity?
