“For me, every hour is grace. And I feel gratitude in my heart each time I can meet someone and look at his or her smile.”
—Elie Wiesel
Whose smile feels particularly like grace to you?
Face it. We can’t always be graceful. Sometimes, trying something new requires going through an awkward phase when the parts just don’t seem to fit together. Sometimes, it turns out, the joy isn’t really so much in grace as in the willingness to have fun doing something new badly.
What do you enjoy doing awkwardly?
Riding a swing gives you the primal rush of flying as the swing heads up…up…up. Of course, you know that any moment you will reach the top of the arc and head down again. But you also know that it is the momentum of the downward swing that pushes you up once more, if only you lean your weight into it.
Where on the pendulum of up and down does your life feel at the moment?
