When have you witnessed love looking like justice?

One person seems very small to stand guard over the enormous edifice of Justice. Which means that each of us needs to keep watch.

In what way have you appointed yourself a guardian of Justice?

The story goes that King Solomon dispensed justice by suggesting to two women who both claimed to be the mother of a baby that they cut the baby in half and give half to each. That would be fair. But sometimes there’s a long distance between fairness and genuine justice.

How have you opted for justice over fairness?

Perhaps the most basic need for each of us is to be known by our name—to be recognized as an individual, rather than simply part of a system. Numbers such as our driver’s license or social security number serve many useful purposes, but honoring the value of our unique inner being is not one of them.

When have you been treated as a name when you expected to be treated as a number, or vice versa?
