Hatching

Baby birds have a special tooth for the purposes of cracking their shells from within. Their muscles also develop in such a way to help propel their head towards the shell to crack it open. From inside the egg, they communicate with their mothers, telling them which way the egg needs to face in the nest for the bird to come out right.

From what do you need to emerge today? How can you signal to others around you the ways they can help you do this?

Nebula

“Let us pray to the God who holds us in the hollow of his hands — to the God who holds us in the curve of her arms — to the God whose flesh is the flesh of hills and hummingbirds and angleworms — whose skin is the color of an old black woman and a young white man, and the color of the leopard and the grizzly bear and the green grass snake — whose hair is like the aurora borealis, rainbows, nebulae, waterfalls, and a spider’s web — whose eyes sometime shine like the evening star, and then like fireflies, and then again like an open wound — whose touch is both the touch of life and the touch of death — and whose name is everyone’s, but mostly mine. And what shall we pray? Let us say, ‘Thank you.’” – Rev. Max A. Coots

Weaving

Weavers make intricate and beautiful fabrics by drawing strands of fiber called the weft through others, the warp, that is pulled tight. The warp provides structure while the weft, through creative weaving techniques, usually provides texture and design. These elements are in balance with one another throughout the weaving process.

On the Edge

Puffins nest underneath the lip of soil and grass that forms at the edge of great sea cliffs. There, they find protection from danger and there they hatch young and prepare to fly off over the sea.

What is finding a home at the edge of your spirit today? How can you protect it and nurture it into life?
