New Year’s Day
Of course, new beginnings in our lives rarely correspond with particular dates on the calendar. But still, the first of the (Gregorian calendar) year is as good a time as any to wipe the slate clean, to start anew.
What would you like to leave behind from the old year so that you can start fresh?
Waiting for the Next Wave
New Year’s Eve, although it may be raucous, is a bit of a pause in the cycle of the year, a deep breath as we look toward the horizon, wondering what the next wave will bring.
On the cusp of the New Year, are you riding the wave, under water, paddling in the shadows, swimming out to sea or headed toward shore?
On Firm Ice
There are definitely times when we are skating on thin ice, worried that the surface that holds us will crack. But at other points in life it is possible to relax into an assured sense that while we might stumble and fall, the ice beneath us is firm and reliable.
What gives you the sense of a stable surface underlying what you do?
A Camel in the Snow
Camels are beautifully adapted to their desert environment, from the humps that store water to the long eyelashes that protect their eyes from blowing sand. Which isn’t much help when it turns out that you are living in the snow.
