It’s hard to forget that we are all connected when you can hear your neighbors through your walls and smell what it is that they are having for dinner. Sometimes we might want to be just a little less connected, but the truth is that however close or distant our neighbors might be, our actions always affect someone.

Way back in the spring you put this precious hour on layaway, holding it for just this moment. Over the summer it ripened, and now, as the leaves fall and winter is on its way, it is ready for you to enjoy as a pleasure of the late fall.
How will you enjoy your extra hour?
The Mexican/Mexican-American celebration of the Day of the Dead is truly that—a celebration. There are times to mourn and to cry over our losses, but El día de los muertos recognizes that there are also times to remember with joy, and even festivity, those who live on in us.
Whose life do you celebrate—and how?
Linus, from the Peanuts cartoons of Charles Schultz, used to spend the evening of Halloween waiting in a pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin, who, sadly, never arrived. But if only he had let go of the unobtainable vision of the Great Pumpkin, Linus might have seen that he was surrounded by quite lovely (and pie-worthy) Lesser Pumpkins.
What entirely obtainable treat will you reach for this Halloween?
As the days grow shorter and winter draws closer, many beings are preparing themselves to sleep through the winter, living off what they have gathered in over the summer and the time of harvest.
